Umeko

Say the hard things,
gently.

Ease the tension, little by little.

Umeko is an AI service for when you can't find the right words.

Just having Umeko in the group makes everyone a little more mindful of their words. When the mood shifts, it privately DMs only the people involved. Call “Umeko” and it’ll respond in the group too — but mostly it stays in the background, helping people find their own words.

In 1-on-1 chats, Umeko helps you rephrase messages, talk through frustrations, and sort out your feelings.

When words fail

Sound familiar?

You know what you want to say, but you're afraid it'll come out too harsh.

The same misunderstanding keeps happening, and talking about it is exhausting.

Unspoken feelings pile up until they all spill out at once.

You need to give feedback at work without being too blunt.

You want a quick sounding board, but it's not worth bothering someone about.

For those moments when words fail — Umeko is here.

Umeko

What Umeko is like

Every workplace and every family has that one person who makes things a little calmer. Umeko aspires to be that kind of presence.

Neutral

No lectures

No taking sides

No judging feelings

Originally from Fukuoka. Former customer support agent. What I learned there is that the same message, worded differently, gets a completely different reaction. Being right doesn't always mean being heard. What I can do isn't to decide who's right — it's to help you adjust your words, just a little. Feel free to talk to me anytime.

What changes just by having Umeko there.

Intervening isn't Umeko's only job.

Just having Umeko in the group makes everyone choose their words a little more carefully. The thought "Umeko might say something" creates a brief pause before someone hits send out of frustration.

We heard this from someone actually using it: "Since we added Umeko, no one in the family group says hurtful things anymore."

A day with no interventions is the best kind of day. That's what Umeko believes.

If I've been quiet for a while, that means the group is doing well. And that's exactly how it should be.

Umeko

That's a tough one. How far behind is it?
19:30
About a week. It's partly my fault so it's even harder to say
19:31

Umeko

How about something like: "I apologize for the late update. The project is about a week behind schedule. I've put together the cause and a recovery plan — could you take a look?"

FAQ

Is my conversation data safe?

Conversation data is managed using LINE/Slack identifiers, not real names. Your conversations are never made public or sold to third parties.

Will it reply to every message in a group?

No. Umeko usually stays quiet. When it detects tension, it privately DMs the people involved — not the group. It will respond in the group if you call "Umeko" by name.

What happens when the free trial ends?

Umeko stops responding. Subscribe to the Umeko plan (¥980/month) to unlock both 1-on-1 and group features.

Can it read images and PDFs?

Yes. Umeko can read images, voice messages, PDFs, Word, and Excel files. You can even send a screenshot and ask "How should I reply to this?"

Is it easy to cancel?

Yes. Just tell Umeko "I want to cancel" and you'll receive a link to the cancellation page. Note: blocking on LINE or uninstalling from Slack doesn't stop billing.

Does it work on both LINE and Slack?

Yes. "Umeko LINE" and "Umeko for Slack" are two separate services. Same Umeko, but independently subscribed and billed.
